Learn how to apply false eyelashes for cheer or dance competition.  Applying false eye lashes enhances your cheer makeup and dance makeup.

Applying false eyelashes can be pretty intimidating at first but if you want to create a dramatic stage look, false lashes are the way to go. Lashes come in many shapes and sizes so choose a lash based on the look you are trying to achieve as well as the age of the dancer or cheerleader. Long lush eyelashes may not fit appropriately on a young girl but look wonderful on an older girl. There are a variety of styles and shapes as well as rhinestone eye lashes, glitter eyelashes and large dramatic lashes.

Once you choose the lashes, they need to be fitted to the cheerleader or dancer’s eyelid.

Test the lash on the eyelid for fit and cut the lash to the size of your eye line.

Trim your lash on the thick end not on the end that is closest to the tear duct. This will maintain the normal lash length and curve.

Apply eye make-up before applying your false lashes. This keeps makeup out of the lashes and provides a better transition from makeup to lash.

Choose an eyelash glue that dries invisible. Typically glue comes out white and then dr

ies clear. Squeeze a thin line of glue along the base of the false eyelash and allow drying for at least 20 seconds.

Allowing the glue to dry give it a tacky texture which makes it sticks better.

Starting at the outer corner of your eye, press the lash into the base of your natural eyelashes. There are some great tools out there to apply eyelashes. Using a tool or the end of a tweezer, push the lash along the natural line of your eyelashes. Once the glue is dry, you can finish by applying your eyeliner.

Apply one coat of mascara into your natural lashes working up into the false ones. This creates a more natural look and helps your natural and false lashes blend together.

Removing your false eye lashes slowly by pulling from the outer corner of your eye. You can clean them and store for use in the original container so that they do not get creased or damaged.
